From my place to STLgasm's...come along!

Earlier this week I took a leisurely walk to my brother's (STLgasm) place and then back again, via a short ride on the Metro. It was about 10:00am and I had no place to be, so I thought I'd bring my camera along. I live in the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood of St. Louis; Gasm lives in the Central West End. This is by no means among my best of threads, because I didn't decide to take pictures until I was walking out the door. Some of the pics are out of order but I don't give a shit. Hope you enjoy the pics of my enjoyable morning walk:

Both looks like very nice neighborhoods, thanks for sharing. BTW I like how they painted the trains on Metrolink.

Wha? I thought St Louis looked like Detroit, but smaller. Learn something every day.

I'm just jealous. You have a transit line. To Lambert. I have to drive to DTW later today.

I came alright.

Seriously, out of all the amazing STL threads I've ever seen, this very well might be the best. Stunning architecture. What a city.

I did a reverse version of your trip when I visited St Louis last summer. The CWE/U City area of St. Louis is incredible--I wish the Twin Cities had an area with similar density. Thanks for the photos!

great pictures and all around the neighborhoods and trip look good.

I especially like the porches in this photo. How much does it cost to rent one of those apartments? rough answer, a guess.

You could probably rent a 2-bedroom in one of those babies for about $800-$900/mo. A lot of Wash. U. students live in the neighborhood. The Skinky-D is great.

I really like the come wander threads. I think I can picture where you were standing for almost every one of those photos. I really do miss the neighbourhood.

Nice to see the lofts behind the Park East Tower finally getting somewhere.

Have they finally demolished the Doctor's Building? I think I only saw one shot here that might have had a peak of it in the background and I couldn't see it.

there was a thread of the Stinky-D and CWE, any possibility of a link to those? If only you have them handy.

I've got to get to St. Louis. Rather stay in a neighborhood then downtown.

yeah it looks like a beautiful neighborhood, this picture reminds me of parts of Chicago, specifically parts of Uptown.

Nice job.

I love my STL!

Not being from STL and living here now, I always said (say) it is one of the most underrated cities in the country.

I like the new "wrapped" Metro cars too. Metro is one of St. Louis' gems.

^^ Very much agreed Pip.

As someone that partially grew up in the flip-side (Kansas City), it just amazes me that both cities can be located in the same state!!! What a difference a rail and some agressive planning has made!
