Is this going to rise like the Shard where the core is "naked" before they add the floors and such?

Reference.

Those are some pretty understandable sentiments.

Yes... but the roof is as high as Empire State's main observatory. I think that needs to be pointed out given the design change.

Sorry I missed the proper reference image. If you go by HOF height criteria, ESB, 1, 2, 3,and 4 are all around the same height.

Always a good site to see. At least we know this one will be rising at least a few stories above ground. That alone will be impressive to see.

Most people who will look at these skyscrapers don't care about occupied floors - neither at the top, nor at the bottom. What people are interested in seeing is how these towers appear on the skyline. What's behind the facade hardly matters to anyone, save for a select few.

Silverstein has faith that new WTC buildings will be fully leased

September 07, 2011

Quote:
Developer Larry Silverstein is certain that the new buildings at the World Trade Center will end up fully leased, he said on NY1's Inside City Hall. Tower 7 is already fully leased, and Silverstein said he thinks other the buildings will soon follow.....For Tower 3, he said is in discussions with large tenants who require major space in a new building because they use a significant amount of technology, and are interested in a "green" buildling that is LEED-certified.

I confident he'll deliver. There is a lot of passion from that organization to complete the site.

The World Trade Center Is Now Totally Above Ground

By Matt Chaban 9/08

Quote:
During a tour of the World Trade Center recently, The Observer marveled at the progress taking place on Norman Foster’s 200 Greenwich Street and Richard Roger’s 175 Greenwich Street—better known as Tower 2 and Tower 3....it turns out, as our guide informed us, that both buildings have now reached street level.

Just to be sure, we checked with the higher-ups at Silverstein Properties, and they confirmed that the concrete core of Tower 3 and the steel columns of Tower 2 were indeed past the street. (For those who read our piece in this week’s 9/11 series, you’ll know the reason one has steel higher and the other concrete is because Tower 3 is only the second office building in the city to have its concrete core rise ahead of its steel frame, and even that combination was unheard of prior to the construction of nearby 7 World Trade Center.)

I saw interior photos of Roger's new Bankside condos in London which have exterior bracing similar to what was proposed for 3WTC, and upon seeing the photos, I readily understand why it was eliminated here (but for on small corner areas). While it looks beautiful from the outside, from the interior, it really blocks the view outside, and it honestly looks ridiculous.

I think it would look pretty sweet from in the inside to be honest.

While the new design of Tower 3 has grown on me, it looks like you don't appreciate John Hancock Center in Chicago, then? That's one of my all time favorites - inside and out. A fantastic building.
