The thunderstorm one is my favourite yet.
It's so beautiful.

So, last night I went to the village of Witless Bay for their annual Puffin Fest. It was
awesome. I loved every second.
It's on the Irish Shore south of St. John's (it took me about an hour to get there because there's a bridge closed with a detour along the way). I went with the family of an ex I dated in high school. He wasn't able to be there (he's off at a work site), but his sisters and I are still good buddies.
It's a completely different world from the city, in a very enjoyable way. First of all, all of the middle-aged men and women in the village were babysitting, or serving as designated drivers - ferrying people to and from the field to their houses.
The accents are very Irish; the vulgarity and humour as strong as it gets in Newfoundland.
"Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! MOM! MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMA! MOMMA! MOM!"
- "If you don't shut the fuck up I'm going to throw meself off the Jesus wharf."
Everyone - and I mean everyone - was intimately familiar with Alberta. They were all reminiscing about the time 18 of them shared a house in Edmonton, and similar stories. They were all counting down the days until so-and-so gets home or goes back.
They all hate Fort Mac ("the hell of all hells"), and all try instead to get work in Edmonton. They can talk about neighbourhoods of Edmonton like it was just up the road.
The percentage of drop-dead gorgeous people was quite high as well. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty there as homely as me - but I spent half the night flirting. Very LGBT-friendly out there too, which was nice. There were at least three different gay couples dancing, holding hands, etc. It was just fantastic.
