Architecture School

I plan to get a degree in architecture, so I was wondering what are the best architecture school in the Midwest?
i live in Chicago, i know about uic, iit, and uicu, but are they any other good architecture school in Illinois or neighboring states, such as Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, or other states in the Midwest region?

I apologize if someone has already created a thread similar to this.

Thank you

I go to IIT, came from Texas. If you research this school it really is probably the most important institution for the creation of the modern skyscraper. Every major project since the 60s has involved either an alumni or been collaborated with an alumni of this school.

Washington U. in St. Louis (where I'm teaching for the moment) has the "5th best" Architecture Graduate program in the country or so says Design Intelligence. The rankings can be a little dicey (and highly subjective, clearly) but the school has done a lot more to distinguish itself lately.

In Ohio - University of Cincinatti

In Michigan - University of Michigan, University of Detroit Mercy, and Lawrence Technological Institute all have good programs, from what I saw when i visited them.

and I would vouch for my own school, Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, depending on where you look, it's ranked around #7 in the nation. Don't really know if that counts as midwest though.

If you can get in you might want to try UT Austin. It sounds like you want to stay local but getting to and from Chicago is pretty easy and cheap on Southwest.
