It's the last thing she needs right now, given the economic situation in Spain, and the uncertainty of her employment situation over the next while. She did want kids in the next few years. Hopefully she sees the silver lining here.
Well, that's fucked up. Many women who are near 30 or just over without children seem to have children on their mind. I think around 30 they begin to think it's now or never - regardless of their career, state of the economy....

Yeah, she's 32 and has been self-admittedly baby crazy (not exactly her words )for the past few years. But I know this is definitely not how/when she had planned it.

Besides, her brother had a kid last year, so surely they'll be able to work through this together.

Oh well, things will settle down for her.

There was a reason that she moved back to Spain . Women never plan like men. Some women think that their objectively unreasonable, but subjectively reasonable actions (hoping that he uses a condom, forgetting a few pills, forgetting that some OTC meds will counteract birth control...) are a plan NOT to get pregnant.

Anyway, you're a good friend to your ex. If I had been dumped I would be cordial, but curt with her. I certainly wouldn't want to be a "shoulder to cry on." But even my own mother calls me an "asshole", "jerk," and/or "rude/evil" so take my advice with a grain of salt.

The earliest I've ever opened my office window. Put on some summer music and I almost feel like I'm working outside.

I wore shorts outside today!

IT'S STILL WINTER!! IN CANADA!!! Not Vancouver, either—NORTHERN ONTARIO. You know, "blizzards in May" and all that shit.

The downside of course is that I kept getting attacked by horseflies. In winter.

Yep, up to 80 something today. Took the dog for a walk in a marshy area and the frogs and toad were thawed out and singing with bugs flying around. Could use some rain, though, lots of brush and grass fires lately.

Ontario's Ministry of Poorly Managed Natural Resources says we won't have any forest fires this year because this government actually listens to aboriginal people, unlike a government led by one of the opposition parties.

Most of them do. You can see what person has a window that opens and who doesn't by the amount of crap they place on the window sill. Bobbleheads and plants....no that one doesn't open. The fire escapes are also open and are great during lunch...just don't drop anything.

Kid Rock buys house on Detroit's east side

by Bill McCollum | Detroit Free Press

March 15, 2012

Heads-up, Detroit: It looks as if you’ve got a new Kid on the block.

Neighbors say Michigan music star Kid Rock has purchased a house on the east side of Detroit, and they’re welcoming him with open arms.

The 6,000-square-foot colonial-style home was sold earlier this year, said neighbor Tom Barrow, an accountant and onetime Detroit mayoral candidate.

Barrow said his wife and children met the red-hatted Rock in the driveway earlier this month.

...

“We’re happy to have him as a neighbor,” said Barrow. “We’re hoping his private life is calming and can have a positive influence on my young children. We’re confident he’ll be a good neighbor. I know he’s very pro-Detroit.”

...

It was a nearly 10,000-square-foot house in Indian Village priced at $550,000.

...
LOL!

Well, there goes the neighborhood.

Pina Coladas are tasty. The deli up the street from me sells a chocolate bar filled with alcoholic pina colada cream. Not as good as the one filled with advocaat but I've purchased more than a few.

"Thick advocaat is sold on the Dutch, Belgian and Tyrolean markets and often eaten with a little spoon"

The more you read about the stuff the gayer it is.
