Ok, so it's been a long time since I posted and I've accumulated a big wash of back inventory that I need to clear out. It'll probably take a few threads so this is the first of X number. For no reason I'm starting with the most current pics.
These photos were all taken this weekend in two locales: Along Sandy Blvd. in NE Portland and in my neighborhood in NW Portland. Since it was 90 degrees yesterday I couldn't resist the temptation to get a sunburn and look for girls. I don't have a map to post but mostly I've tried to call out the locations of various pics.
Sandy Blvd. is an interesting Portland thoroughfare. The rest of the city is laid out in a grid and it is criss-crosses the NE on a diagonal. Parts of it are suburban and other parts, like the Hollywood District, are quite urban. NW Portland, meanwhile, is a turn-of-the-century neighborhood close to Downtown.
OK, so enough of that. On with the pics:
Somewhere out Sandy, around 60th Ave. The start of a stip of blocks containing many Vietnamese businesses.
A dry-cleaners located around 42nd and Sandy.
Tattoo joint around 39th.

View up Sandy from the base of a hill starting about 48th.
They looked older before I zoomed in. Apparently they were walking to a church carwash at a gas station.
Never been in this joint. Looks to be a Chinese restaurant/nightclub.

The Rose Hollywood Chapel. Not sure if it's for weddings or what, but I bet it's got a rich history.

Converted Fire Station, now residences
Two neighboring houses that were probably once twins but have since been renovated in different directions.
House across the street with a lowered VW Passat with Audi rims.
A somewhat common type of apartment building from the 1950s, built as infill in many older neighborhoods.
It's next-door neighbor... barely wider than a 4x4.

Yeah, rooftops... On that note, back to Sandy Blvd.
Love this building.
Not sure of the name of this neighborhood. Basically it's sort of a fragment right off of Sandy.
One day I will have a bungalow like that.

Since Sandy crosses the city on a diagonal some of the intersections and building alignments are funky.
Ok, back to NW:
Portland's Vespa dealership on NW 23rd Ave.
Lots of ladies yesterday.
Looking into the Vespa shop, which appears to be only about 8' wide.
Next door, converted houses turned into multi-floor shops.

The back of the Bookmark Apartments... which is way more interesting than the front so I didn't photograph it.
And on a final note, the awesome Hollywood theatre with an abandoned grass lot next door that everybody likes to walk through.
