I've always loved this old photo of University Avenue in Toronto. It's one of those angles that exudes 'metropolis'.

Snow is on the way, but for today:

CBC profiles street fashion in St. John's, stopping people to photograph them and ask where they bought their clothes. I love it.

As usual, Twisted Sisters Boutik, Model Citizens, and Always in Vogue were the big winners today. A few scenes of downtown warming up from this morning:

The Sheldon Chumir Centre in Calgary. Our closest thing to a hospital in our downtown. It is Canada's largest integrated community health centre with over 40 health care programs, the only thing that makes it not a hospital is basically that it doesn't provide for overnight stays.

It was named in honour of Sheldon M. Chumir, a Rhodes Scholar, graduate of both U of A and Oxford, and long time Liberal Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Calgary-Buffalo (downtown Calgary).

My homemade sushi look more professional than those. I hope they're not from a sushi place.

Saskatoon looks nice from that angle!

Nope, it's a restaurant. We ordered off the cheap menu - and it was delicious!

They have nicer looking dishes that all look like dragons, etc. But they're $16/plate. These were only $7/plate.

That must be the day old fish used by the apprentice learning to make sushi! Seriously, not a good example of the craft.

God only knows. But it was delicious. Spicy salmon. And everyone there but the wait staff is actually Japanese.
