There is nothing more beautiful than the calm waters of Puget Sound; and when you put Seattle against them as a backdrop, it's... well, let's say Perfect.
...and the clouds start to come in. The photo below was taken just minutes after the photos above, showcasing Seattle's tendency for changing weather patterns:
The logo painted on the pier is supposed to be a stylized "e", symbolic of the "e" as it appears in the logo of the Seattle Port Authority. They painted it there, apparently, in an effort to impress tourists, or passing jetliners, or... I don't really know:

People may complain about banks, but I seriously believe that we owe lots of amazing architecture to cities with prosperous financial districts. If there were no banks, that would almost certainly be a bad thing for skyscraper fans:
