Alt H wouldn’t necessarily require waiting for the subway to be built because it would pay for the Extension. Expect SELA to be furious about that.

Shame the CenterLine never came to fruition.

Has anyone seen MoveLA's Vision 2020 strawman? It's a complete joke in my opinion, I would be a HARD NO on this proposition. Only 10% of the revenue would go to Metrolink for the first 20 years, with the remaining going mostly to cars and trucks. Really disappointing. No thanks Denny.

Has MoveLA ever even enacted any meaningful legislation?

They were one of the main driving forces behind both Measure R and Measure M...

California Transportation Commission's staff recommendations for 3 SB1 funding programs came out today:
http://www.catc.ca.gov/

Solutions for Congested Corridors Program:
$150 million for Crenshaw/People Mover station
$0 for East San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor (Metro requested $300 million)
$0 for Orange Line improvements (Metro requested $80 million)

Local Partnership Competitive Program:
$75 million for Orange Line improvements (Metro requested $80 million)
$0 for Crenshaw/People Mover station (Metro requested $150 million)

Trade Corridor Enhancement Program:
A bunch of freight and freeway funding awarded

I think this means it is likely that they will recommend $300 million for the East San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor under TIRCP (recommendations come out next week for that):

It's been floated for years as an alternative to hellish traffic at Dodger Stadium, but someone has finally put their money where their mouth is.

Aerial Rapid Transit Technologies, LLC has announced plans to construct a gondola system that could ferry passengers between Union Station and Dodger Stadium in a five-minute end-to-end ride. Each cabin would be capable of accommodating 30 to 40 passengers, according to an official website, with capacity for up to 5,000 passengers per hour at peak frequencies.
The project, which carries an estimated cost of $125-million, would be funded in part by former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and other private sources. McCourt, who sold the Dodgers in 2011 to Guggenheim Partners, still retains partial ownership of the sprawling surface parking lots that wrap their eponymous stadium.

Although fares have not been set yet, the Los Angeles Times reports that ticket costs would be cheaper than Dodger Stadium parking - currently priced at approximately $20.

McCourt's group is seeking Metro approval for the project, including the preparation of an environmental impact report and community outreach. The company would also pursue a lease for space to build a stop at Union Station.

^ That gondola is a win/win in my view. Much better alternative to access Dodger Stadium and a tourist attraction in its own right for the views. I get that it limits tall development along its path, but I don't realistically see the northern half of Chinatown becoming a sea of skyscrapers anytime soon.

The California State Transportation Agency is recommending Metro get $1.088 billion (Metro requested $1.4 billion):

Or is there still a chance of it come to fruition with the help of Measure M? Despite all the excitement I have for the purple line extension set to be complete by 2024, there are still a ton of gaps. I'm blown away there is no coverage for areas like WeHo that could connect to say The Grove/Fairfax district.

Do you think there will be any hope in the near future for rail?

By all accounts the Crenshaw Line is on track for the northern extension. There is nothing out there saying the northern extension is going to be delayed or cancelled.

I still think running it up Fairfax Av. is the best option.

I think the best option is running the Crenshaw Line up La Brea, with a separate line running down Santa Monica Blvd before turning south down La Cienega. But let's just fund another Gold Line extension to San Bernardino instead.

When is the projected completion date for the northern Crenshaw extension? Will it be in our lifetime (lol)?
