Eastern Sherbrooke, which is now part of the borough of Fleurimont.

Unfortunately, three adjacent buildings have been torn down on Wellington Sud, in dowtown Sherbrooke. Two were totally derelict and had burnt several times over the last few years while the third one burnt in January.

The concrete slab in front of the mural (as well as the underlying red brick foundations) is currently being refurbished into a small park.

Edit: if I had to guess, this is probably taken from SMU campus.

Great set of pics. Thanks Martin.

I've never noticed the lighter stones out front of Notre-Dame before (I was just there walking on them several weeks ago too... I must not have looked down very much). Are they purely decorative, or do they mark the footprint of a church that stood on that site before Notre-Dame was built?

Exactly,
It's the footprint of the original Notre Dame church which stood in the middle of Notre Dame St. between St. Sulpice and St. Francois Xavier Sts. It was built in 1672 and demolished in 1830 for the construction of the new basilica.

Friend of mine got access to Hamilton's Rock Garden this weekend so I tagged along, it won't re-open until next year. It was built in 1930s by Thomas McQuesten. It's currently under a $20 million makeover and it's looking amazing!

Filming Murdoch Mysteries in Cobourg today. Looks like a fill in for Toronto. Never watched the show before.

It might be set in Cobourg. They filmed an episode set in St. John's, even based part of the plot around the fact we were the capital of a separate country at the time the show is set.
