MARSEILLE | CGM French Line | 486 FT / 148 M | 29 FLOORS

Arch : Zaha Hadid
29 floors, 148 m (486 ft)
Completion : 2008

The "tour CGM" is part of a redevelopment project, Euroméditerranée, that started ten years ago.
Three high-rises are currently planned, including CGM. (The other two are designed by Jean Nouvel and Massimiliano Fuksas)

Good to see France getting highrise action, particularly in the south.

I actually like the location. Cities the world over are filled with virtually unusable plots wedged between infrastructure. Lowrise infill won't work. The only option is something which will elevate the occupants above the noise of the highway. Ergo a tower.

It's land use at least.
