If Victoria secret is the one where bluenotes was its going to be huge, it stretches from the underground parking down to the dollorama

Speaking of the Dollorama, I assume its days are now numbered?

I think VS is going where Bluenote's was and the space beside it, Stoke's old space. The other two down to Dollarama are another space probably for another new store.

Most likely yes because of the high end changes they're trying to make but it does get quite busy at times, it might stay longer than it should

HSC has a new contest starting that involves the new stores.

"If you’ve noticed the changes happening at Halifax Shopping Centre, you know that we’re nurturing a whole garden of new stores. Soon, even more of the world's top brands will be opening".

Sounds interesting. We only know of VS and Apple. I guess maybe Fossil, but it definitely sounds like more announcements will be made that we haven't heard of!

A new butcher shop called Highland Drive Storehouse opened yesterday on Kaye Street in the Hydrostone. The owner is a 24 year old woman and she sources meats from local farms. I'm going to check it out this afternoon.

Very interesting, especially that someone so young is willing to take on such a financial risk and (probably) time consuming business.

When I ramble on about more population density and better local services and businesses this is basically what I'm talking about. One of the great things about living in an urban neighbourhood is being able to shop frequently and conveniently in smaller stores like this. The North End is only about 60% of the way there.

I went by the store today hoping for some lunch...

Paper sign in the window of the door says the "Original Tomavnos" is "reopening soon".

So it appears that they really will be reopening... just a matter of time. IIRC the sign might have mentioned 2 weeks......

I think that sign has been up for about a month now, so their schedule may be a bit delayed, I did see painters there a few weeks ago though.

I believe when the building was bought by the Metlej's they said they weren't sure if they would include it in the development of the old row houses or not, they just wanted to own the neighboring building.

Not sure, but I imagine the Tomavino building is going to remain.
