Calgary | Summer in the air

Took these while out and about for a walk at lunchtime. Temps around 30C today and it felt like summer.

Incredible high temps in Calgary! I suppose it will not be normal there by the mid of April. 30C is a very high temp for April, not even usual in Madrid. By the moment, the highest temp reached here has been around 22C.

Thanks for the pictures and congrats from Madrid, Spain.

i've seen that fairly often down here (the south). some people just don't like the heat and humidity.

Wow - looks almost like the height of summer! I can't remember ever seeing that many leaves on the trees before May when I lived there, you are beating Southern Ontario on spring by a mile this year. Hopefully there isn't a massive May snowstorm that knocks them all down like in 2014.

Those temperatures are generally pretty close to as hot as Calgary normally gets too.

Wow, looks like Calgary's foliage is further along than here in Denver, 12 degrees of latitude south. I'm always impressed with Calgary's streetlife. I'm currently planning a trip to Waterton Lakes/Glacier, hopefully I'll be able to spend a day or two in Calgary.

It's been an abnormal year for sure. The tree in my back yard has already fully leafed out and the flowers have bloomed.....a week or so ahead of last year which was an early year.

I'm expecting that we'll see some kind of crazy snowstorm later. It's been so nice that we will be getting some payback I'm sure lol.

Of course there are years when winter drags on longer than normal. 2014 was a long one for Calgary, while eastern Canada was getting the warm temps.

Just to put it into perspective, this is a pic from May 29th 2014. Today, the yard is roughly at this stage. Almost 6 weeks of difference from a very early year to a late year.

Dam that's so nice. Love Calgary with all my heart, even more so when it has the nice weather to boost it. Again wonderful.
