i don't know about that - we have cameras in our building and when the parkade has been broken into in the past the police are offered the footage which shows the crime happenning but they say it's of no use it won't hold up in court

Yep, enforcement is the issue. Maybe just catch a few and cut of they're paint colored trigger fingers. Maybe just to the first knuckle! That should stop the taggers!

Catch afew of them and make them all paint the entire bridge white as part of community service. Then get them to replace all the plexiglass panels with blue tinted glass.

They aimed to mess up the bridge and wreck it, instead they get forced to make it better.

Anybody up for forming a vigilante anti vanadlism group to protect the peace bridge? We could stake out each end in shifts, and if we catch the taggers, we would simply smash up their hands with a baseball bat so that in the future they wont be able to handle a spray can?

Sunday afternoon I was out walking around Eau Claire with Mrs Surreal and Mini Surreal, I walked across the Peace Bridge for the first time......well first time since it opened ..... anyhow, Eau Claire and Prince's Island were packed full of people, and there were large throngs of people and line-ups just to get onto the bridge Listening to people around me, all I heard was how great the bridge was.

Late yesterday afternoon I came over the bridge from Kensington towards downtown, and as I got onto the southside river pathway an older guy on a bike passing by looked at me and muttered "25 million for that POS", and just carried on his way along by the river.

Personally I like the bridge, but they really need to get on and finish the landscaping at both ends.

Its amazing how many people dont know why the bridge ended up as it was designed. You really have to take the time to explain to people all of the site constraints before they finally understand what kind of engineering went into this thing.

I converted someone just the other day and they accept it. A little education goes a long way.

There are multiple types. There is a group that gripe but will give you 60 seconds for thoughtful comments, and can be made to reconsider. There are others, however, where you'd just be wasting your time.

Toronto should get their 1% for public art back. That bridge is U-G-L-Y.

How can they compare a bridge with a 9+ foot chain link fence on it with one that has glass railings?! Not to mention the industrial and utilitarian nature of the steel on the Toronto one!
