The Toronto one is terrible! a utilitarian bridge would probably have looked better!

Wondering about the title of this thread - should it not be changed to 'completed' from 'under construction'? As there is continued interest / discussion, perhaps that can be taken up on a city pathways thread or something other.

As the thread creator I tried to change the title to included "completed" a few weeks ago. However it has not appeared to change, perhaps a mod (Mersar) can do that for us?

The Truth about Graham swallowing the losses comes out!


St. Patrick's Island pedestrian bridge to use same construction firm as Peace Bridge
The same firm that assembled the Peace Bridge will construct the next pedestrian bridge at St. Patrick’s Island, the East Village development agency announced Wednesday.

Graham Construction wound up nearly 1 1/2 years behind schedule on the $25-million Eau Claire footbridge, an intricately designed steel helix by Santiago Calatrava.

neat video - I think it really highlights how much space there is on the South end of the bridge for landscaping and improved event type space. I think to not finish that side up soon would be a shame, though I do recognize the political quagmire.
