This building has it's own website now.

They've got some floor plans and a very generous shiny rendering.

What's the name of the horizontal building picture in both of those shots in the foreground?

Nah. I was asking because I am actually kind of fond of it. In a city so vertical, it's kind of a treat to find horizontal lines every once in awhile. I actually couldn't tell if it was a redone historic building or a new construction not knowing the area.

well thats true it is rare to be able to go horizontal in nyc for most of a whole block, but wait -- do you like it because of that? or are you a fan of college campus dorm bldgs in general?

The terrible blockbusting part of this building will be copletely covered up by whatever rises accross the street so it doesn't bother me as much.

Economically, this building will be great for this area. Apartments start at $3,000 per month for a studio and so the hundreds of well-to-do tenants moving in will really boost that part of town in the form of better shops and services.

Also - I really hate that white 'Ohm' building. I hope tall towers rise around it and successfully block it from most vantge point.

This building turned out decent. Also will that Zaha architect or whatever build that modern building in the empty lot?

It looks complete; it's the highrise farthest to the right.

As of April 20th, 2014...
