There we go! I think the black cars with the white doors work the best. Nice to see it on the Chargers now.

I love the white one with the reflective logo from Quebec. That one is my favourite, and would be in any colour.

A better picture of ours from Twitter (a whole neighbourhood is being evacuated by that bus because of a drug lab discovery... that sounds like a meth lab to me. I hope meth doesn't become a thing here. St. John's tends to fall hard for drugs - lots of disposable income and people who think anything other than pot is exotic, foreign, and cool).

A Roewe 550? How lame

Chinese Police cars don't need to look scary. The Chinese Police are already scary enough.

Ours. (Hamilton, ON)

The old scheme is alright too. Don't think any of the chargers have been repainted into black and white yet.

I think ours won some poll for best design a few years back. They are slowly being converted to black and white now.

I drive a Chrysler 300. That Ford Police Interceptor has been engineered for the role, and is far superior:

Is there a particular reason most police forces seem to be switching to the panda scheme? I like it, but it seems odd that there is suddenly this big move in that direction.

Nah, the regular police don't scare anybody - because for the most part they don't DO anything.

It's the paramilitary People's Armed Police that are the really scary ones.

I recall in Winnipeg when the changes were announced there had been a study put forward on visibility/safety and the black and white stood out more in daylight instances along with reflective badging along the side for nightime. Winnipeg police officers had to types of liveries to choose from and the pic from rrskylar was the winning choice.

OPP changed to black and white because they stand out better on the highways, especially when the vehicles are parked sideways to block a road. TBPS changed shortly after they did, basically agreeing that that colour scheme works better, except we used very dark blue instead of black.

I'm still not sure why so many of our cities use red firetrucks when the light green ones are easier to see. I think Thunder Bay is the only community in NWO that still has red firetrucks.

There seems to be a trend across north america to switch to the black and white style... including here in Edmonton.

Here's some other misc vehicles in the force..
