A very fitting tower for the Diamond District, one of the most unique facades.

Stands out quite a bit despite it's height.

This is truly a beautiful tower. Am looking forward to seeing it in person next time I'm in NYC.

Nice, but I wish the building was taller so that it's excellent cladding could be appreciated from more places.

Still nice though.

Exactly what I was thinking. Look at those superb buildings; In many american cities they would be the best ones in the skyline. In Manhattan it's just alley fodder.

This could have been an ugly glass box, but with the different glass panels it really brought it out on the skyline. Like One57 using the different glass creates a whole new look and feel. I hope to see more of these kinds on the skyline in the future.

I want to like this one. I really do. I just can't get past the cladding.

Are you saying you don't like it because of the cladding? Because that is crazy talk...

Reminds me of those clear lego blocks but it's still decent.

The cladding is very striking in person - was able to get a few glances in today.

Like many NY buildings, very awesome and also too crowded in by other buildings.

NYC has dozens and dozens of skyscrapers that would be the absolute centerpieces of skylines in other cities.

That's what you get when you have a super dense, massive skyline. So many beautiful tower that are simply lost in the canyons of Manhattan.

This one should have been at least 800' to make even a slight impact.

actually it would have made a pretty nice impact if it was only around a third taller, say 600 feet.

but yeah its as disappointing as the hearst tower in that regard. too short! although unlike hearst, this one was somewhat of a wildcard as to how it would turn out.

The more time I have spent in the city with Hearst, the more I appreciate the height it is. I do not believe it would have had aesthetically pleasing proportions if it were even one level (set of diamonds) taller than it is. That said, I think the cladding on this building could basically have been any height they wanted and still looked incredible.

I haven't heard of anything, but because this building was actually set to be quite a bit taller in the beginning, I wonder if Extell sold the extra air rights to the new Kaufman special hotel going up down the street. It could end up scary tall and ugly if that's the case.
