I personally am a big fan of the interior lobby of 1WTC. It has that "modern and conservative" look to it.

Not all bad news though. Chadbourne has to move somewhere.

Chabourne & Parke WTC deal is ‘dead’

"...The reversal was surprising because the clock’s ticking on Chadbourne, which must leave behind 300,000 square feet at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in 2014, when Deloitte will take its space."

Damn. Wonder if they took a deal with Silverstein or decided to go the Hudson Yards route?

Exactly - this is actually good news because it gives other projects an opportunity to land a tenant.

Ewww the lobby of the twins looked so tacky and unpleasant. Looked too Donald Trump. The lobby for 1 WTC looks clean and modern. I love it.

I use to like modern lobbies until I went into the Woolworth building. It was like the original Queen Mary compared to the sterile floating cities of today. I've never seen anything that compared with that beautiful old woodwork.

Buildings from the past were built for quality, buildings of today are built with the mindset of stretching ever dollar to its max. It's a sign of the times we are living in,...very cheap.

You people are going to wish that One World Trade Center's lobby was different once it's complete and opened. The lobbies of the Twin Towers and old buildings before them received a lot of natural light including the sun, but One World Trade Center will get natural light. In the end it would probably look more like walking into a windowless laboratory, because a laboratory is sterile and painted white.

Here. Credits to Otie for One World Trade Center lobby renderings. These pictures are taken at roughly the same angle.

I often suggested that before they built the lobby they should have instead designed it with bomb proof glass going 20 floors up. It would have been more attractive and would have done the same job as the concrete base would do now but look inviting, but no one listens.

Again, reserve judgement until the real thing is actually completed..I'll grant you it doesn't look quite as inviting as the lobby of the Twin Towers, but once finished, I'm sure it will be magnificent. The walls won't be all sterile while marble looking either, they will have colorful paintings and artwork, and some light will come in, and there will be some large potted trees like in the old lobbies too, I'll bet.

I agree with roadcruiser, it wont be as inviting and it will be very sterile. I feel like its gonna be that kind of futuristic place where everything is perfect and the government is watching your every move. But i think the rest of the building makes up for the lobby.

Did anyone forget the history at this location. There will be changes that have come about. Not the same thing. Warm or cold!
