What will be the best vantage point?

What do y'all think will be the best vantage point in a couple years to capture the entire skyline, from Gables & Spring in the West to Skyhouse in the East?

Driving northbound on Mopac as you cross the river.

Or looking east out of the 10th-20th floor of a newly built condo tower built along West 5th/6th Street between Lamar and Mopac.

Yeah that one too, definitely. This angle seems to make Austin look a lot bigger than it actually is. I can't imagine how things will look with all the new development going on, Seaholm and Greenwater in particular. Meh, well, you know, I think that's been stressed enough already.

It's got to be a place that includes the Seaholm developments and the Rainey Street developments. Zilker may be about right. It won't look bad from I-35, either.

That's a nice one, but you can't always see Frost.

Boy I really love the view from Zilker Park set behind the stage at ACL - that is simply a stunner.

St. Ed's is good, but you can't see the Capitol dome, and the UT Tower doesn't show up anymore since The Austonian blocks it. Plus it's aligned with Congress so well that most of the building's along Congress north of One American Center and Frost are hidden from view. And you don't get a good idea of how many shorter buildings and density there is north of the Capitol.

Barton Creek Square Mall is good, it shows the Capitol, UT Tower, Frost and most of the new buildings, but most of the shorter buildings in the Rainey Street area hardly show up because of a hill blocking the view.

Is the Pinnacle an option at all? I haven't been up there. Don't know if it's even possible.

Perhaps from areas along and near the East Riverside Drive corridor, southeast of downtown (particularly farther out).

The rooftop of that thing would be incredible, but good luck with that. There is a cafeteria on the 10th (top) floor, but the tinting material on the windows has bubbled so it makes the view mostly worthless.

What about Ben White right under the Capital of Texas exit sign (if you're ballsy enough haha)? I looked from there on Google Streetview. You can get the whole skyline from there pretty well.

The best location would be atop a ferris wheel located on park land at Lady Bird Lake. I'll let you all to decide the best locale of the ferris wheel.

I always wanted an observation tower in Butler Park next to the Palmer Events Center.
