Cool West Campus Tower | West 22nd and San Antonio | ~175 FT | 15 Floors

I was just looking around for renderings as I do sometimes and found this. It's a 15-story 175 foot residential tower slated for 22nd & San Antonio Streets in West Campus.

Has anyone heard anything about this? By the way, this link also has the renderings for the old Austin Museum of Art Tower where the county courthouse is now planned.

This proposal for a West Campus Residential Tower is designed for 246 apartment units. Located on University Baptist Church property at the intersection of West 22nd and San Antonio streets, the new tower will serve a growing student population for The University of Texas. The University neighborhood overlay zoning setbacks cause the façade to step away from neighboring streets as the building grows in height. Residential amenities and service retail occupy the ground floor of the building while screening the parking areas from the street. In addition to parking for the residents, the garage provides 230 spaces for the use of University Baptist Church.

I don't know anything about that particular project, but I swear to you - I was doing the exact same thing last night & today - going to images.google.com and searching for austin + project + rendering. It's like going on in internet scavenger hunt.

I had seen the rendering for the campus tower and didn't know what it was, but figured that since no one was discussing it here, it must have been something that got cancelled.

The project at Rio Grande and W 22nd 1/2 is a different one, I believe. I'm pretty sure it's a Quarters on Campus project.

^Yeah, I just got it mixed up. The developers for this one sent me an email back and said they don't have a project under construction at West 22nd & San Antonio. It's weird, though, because they had a rendering of it on their website. I sent them an email back with that link, but I haven't gotten a response back yet.

It's cool, the same could be said for 721 Congress but had no responds from them either. So I assume it's dead for now.
