I sometimes wonder if they had elected to make the top of the CTC all cooling tower like CC instead of spreading out some of the cooling floors like they did, would CTC be "overall" taller than CC? Looking at pics...I think so...
Yeah, but the highest occupied floor isn't as high as it is in the original Comcast Center.

I agree 100%! I think it's silly that the Petronas Towers are considered taller than the Willis/Sears Tower when its antennas reach 1730 feet:

According to Skyscraper Center,
the occupied height of Comcast Center is 875 ft.
and the occupied height of CITC should be 883 feet.

That's higher for CITC.

I've been trying to figure the same thing out since early January, that was the last time I noticed anything new...

though, today I did notice an unknown red object that's now sitting next to the unknown white object that's been sitting there for weeks, so there's that

They didn't order the lantern through Amazon prime.

Even if that's true, the roof of the building is still shorter, it's just the beacon that makes it taller. I also just wish the American Commerce Center was built instead. This building just looks too small and not very fitting to me.

I think the ACC, while it would have been very cool, would have been a black sheep in the skyline because it would literally dwarf everything and anything else. However, I think that if they can find a lot suitable for it again, they should build it now that the CTC is up and we can have a more organic growth.

How much do you think his budget was?
Maybe I'm reading too much into this vid production but the music captured the dichotomy of Philly projects ; those reaching for the stars and others in the spider web which don't know there already dead. (at least what i heard after the hungry wolf part) Subtly it's also a satirical exposé on the struggles of a bulging city trying to find it way through epilepsy. Bravo. Makes me want to be a better human. (this is what happens when constructions stalls, we get irritable)

Is there even any fire proofing done on the upper portion? Curious why no cladding yet.

Yes, they have at least 6 floors with the fire proof coating in the hotel section.

Perhaps it's been too windy to work on the windows.

I think they've mostly done interior work, it seems the first and second office floors are being furnished and having lights installed

Could be a contractual hold-up somewhere? I know there's a large premium and major shortage of curtainwall nation-wide. The building materials would have been procured a long ago but could still be experiencing a shortage in glass. Just a speculation though, nothing concrete. Not installing the exterior glazing for this long has implications on interior fit-out. It's been said before... but maybe a spire extension or redesign?

I was hesitant to post this anywhere, but I figured while we're talking about it I might as well tell you guys
My friend's dad works for Equus, and he says that the apparent word on the street is that they accidentally made the top of the bottom half, up to where the sky garden is, wider than the base, and they've stopped all progress.

I don't personally buy into it, but if that ends up being it I can say I called it.

Could also be that they're adding another floor to the top. I hear they've been considering that for awhile.

A friend of mine is an ironworker (though not on CTC). About a year ago we were talking about the project and he was regaling me with tales from the shop about serious truing problems going on with the steel construction - specifically with structural elements being out of plumb which explained the delay in steel rising around that time.

If what you're saying is true then it's very alarming but not unheard of for this project.
