Lightbulb HOUSTON | Deyaar Post Oak | HEIGHT | 89 FLOORS | 55 FLOORS

Haven't seen this posted yet, but apparently this is going up in the Galleria. It is an 89-story building with an attached 55-story building next to it. Not much is known about it, but there ya go.

Also, the HAIF post mentions the second tower would be 52 stories, instead of 55.

Cool. So the Emirati equity giants are gonna start building wild US projects now too? I'm down with that...

I'm sure there are likely to be some changes to the current design but yeah it very much mimics the overseas design.

I don't think so. The point that the original poster on the HAIF thread was trying to show was how the tower(s) may be connected, but nothing really other than that.

Also, it would stand to reason that an 89-story office building would be in the "Supertall" category. That is, based on the various heights of the few 900ft + buildings that already exist in the city.

Williams Tower (nee Transco ) - 64 Stories / 901 Ft
Wells Fargo Plaza - 71 Stories / 992 Ft
JPMorgan Chase Tower - 75 Stories / 1,002 Ft

So this should have been in the Supertall Proposals.

How much faith do you guys have in this proposal? I am just as hopeful as you guys are, and Houston is a big enough and prosperous enough city to warrant a project like this but what chance do you give of the supertall being built as near to identical to the original proposal as possible?

A pretty good chance. This thing has legs. Something CityCentre Downtown didn't.

If you are right, then you are my hero.

Houston has the disputed distinction of having the tallest building outside of a CBD (at least in the US, I don't know if this has changed when referring to all nations). The Deyaar project could again secure that distinction globally.

There hasn't even been one of the project as it stands, but ok...

Thanks for moving the thread, btw.

Just to peruse HAIF, this one sounds a little iffy. Love for it to happen, though.

one would hope that a project of this stature/significance would have a much more pleasing or exciting design than anything similar to the building in dubai which although not ugly, certainly isn't remarkable.
