Is 110 N Wacker more than 12 months from breaking ground? I know they still need to demolish the GGP building, but I don't see that as taking too long. Has it gotten full approval yet?
Edit: Never mind, I forgot that its now below 800 ft.
Where did you find that its now below the 800 ft mark? I can't seem to find a source that proves that
Edit: Never mind forget about this post, biggest brain fart of my life

This design is award winning. I like it far more than the Vista super tall currently rising. IMO that is.
The main tower is great. Not a fan of the podium (with the vegetation) with the shorter component next to it, but that main tower once again is stunning. Its set-backs, the facade, the almost vertical pin stripe like nature.
Would be cool if they could add another equally sized shorter tower parallel (on the podium) so it becomes a tri-tower development. On the 3rd, "new" rendering in post #493.
Well, just my opinion, but regardless, a win for Chitown.
This would look even better if it was positioned on the corner parcel @ Roosevelt and Michigan.
I agree this would look better if it was @Roosevelt and Michigan. But squeezing in a 3rd tower would be too much, it would ruin views for the shorter tower. Although it would be cool to have another tower, I feel like 2 is enough for this site.
Yeah, award-winning, me thinks not. It's handsome maybe? I really hope there's fins or something to give it depth.
The building looks good already. Don't make it look tacky with fins.

Yes bc 300 N LaSalle is the epitome of tacky and 0BP 'real classy'
300 N LaSalle would look better without the fins, and what's wrong with OBP that you think fins would fix??

I believe in the slide show pics i read it will have aluminum coated fins! Look at page 27 at the pic that says(middle) Elevation & Materials
Shame, it doesn't need them. The minimalism of the design works without them.

"woof" in this case is a good thing, equivalent to "hot 'n sexy--YOWZA", as opposed to "ew, gross", as connoted by that little brat in Home Alone
In all seriousness though, I think some fins would be great to enhance the verticality of this design. I just hope it isn't as VE'd as 300 N LaSalle's was.
Time for your play-date with the Sun-Times building!
If that future tribune curve had the the same trio like wolf point curve. We would start looking like Shanghai along that portion of the north river in Chicago. I hope im thinking of the right overseas city.
Might i add this is just a fantasy thinking. No wolfpoint is planned for the the old trib space. My bad for brining it up.

So with the new building at Tribune proposed, that makes 2 supertalls proposed for Chicago, and one under construction. That's looking pretty good. I love Chicago.

Possibly 3 when the final structural height for Wolf Point South is determined. *fingers crossed*
Is Thompson center redevelopment a lost cause now? I would think so but you never know with the state. I'd think unless Amazon showed interest in it (which is unlikely but again, you never know) it will just continue to be a topic of debate which comes up every year or so.
With all this construction going on in the Downtown area in and around the river. Just imagine what Chicago will look like 10 years from now. Hope the old Spire site get a proposed building on top of it soon. Being that Chicago is sort of land locked by lake Michigan really the only choice developers have is to build up. For us folks that like architecture and build design in high rises and super tall buildings. Let's see where the next 10 years takes us with all these new buildings going up.

Reason: Cut it out with the bolding.
