Walked by the Central Library site on Friday a saw that a crane base has been installed on the east side of the tunnel portal. Hopefully we'll see construction of the actual building begin soon!

Did you mean west?

You can see on the webcam one definitely getting prepared on the west side of the portal. Can't see anything on the east side

It's tough to make out on the webcam but there crane base that I saw is on the east side. The webcam does provide a great view of the site prep for the crane on the west side.

If you look at the webcam the red top of the crane base is visible poking up above the tunnel portal. It is located just down and to the right of the first crane at the Hilton Hotel site. In the webcam capture below if you draw a diagonal line between the Hilton crane and the drill on the west side of the tunnel you'll see it just to the left of that line.

I see a concrete slab ready for a crane base now on the West Side of the tracks. So it looks like the library will have two cranes.

Great. I've relabeled the thread to construction, as we definitely are at that stage.

Looks like another luffing jib crane is going up today. This one is on the west side of the portal.

Things are starting to come together in EV. Verve, N3, and Ink shouldn't be too far from construction. At least in the meantime we have that fascinating new waterfront space and island to enjoy.
