Sorry to be so late with this post ... I'm sure this is not the only restaurant in Canada to serve bacon with ice cream ... our (fairly new restaurant/lounge) Lancaster Taphouse in Regina does a relatively decent job with their Bacon n' Banana Bread Pudding dessert. (www.thelancaster.ca/menu -- Scroll down to bottom for the item listed under desserts!)

Happy New Year!

That's a shame, especially since Burger King is now a "Canadian" company.

Ice cream with bacon bits? That makes about as much sense as apples and shoe polish.

Or pineapple + soy sauce?

Or wine + cola?

I put bacon bits on ice cream once, it's good. Sweet and savoury.

There's the maple bacon donut too at Safeway.

Save on Meats has a pretty amazing boozy milkshake made with vanilla ice cream, a couple shots of Wild Turkey, and bacon.

That's a popular drink in Spain. They call it calimocho.

Here in Mexico people add tomato juice and tabasco sauce to their beer.

Some people add Maggi or Worcester sauce to tequila.

You should also try whipped cream and pizza. It's good it really is.

Or dipping french fries in hot chocolate. (or in ice cream, but I think that's not uncommon)

The strangest concoction that I had was cola and hefeweisen (wheat beer). It was strange, because it was in Germany that I had it and I figured beer was sacrosanct there.

However, I learned that wheat beer doesn't have to live by the purity laws... and so Germans could feel free to mess around with their hefeweisen without becoming social outcasts.

It's called either a Colaweisen or a Diesel in different parts of Germany and it's surprisingly delicious.

I never found that weird, just not very tasty. I much prefer Radler, though.

There's also all sorts of flavored Weissbier. There's infinite varieties from fruit-flavored to bubblegum flavored.
