Why doesn't Winnipeg have a section?

As one of Canada's largest cities and one of the most historically important metropolises of the continent, how come Winnipeg doesn't have its own section on this forum? Even Halifax, St John's, London, Québec, and Hamilton have their own sections and they are all smaller and less booming cities.

I mostly agree with the question, but do feel it's worth noting that Quebec is a bigger city.

Letting you know Quebec City has 516,000 people while Winnipeg has 663,000. Winnipeg's downtown is also going through major redevelopment unlike Quebec City's.

As mentioned, a topic that comes up frequently.

This is a poll taken/discussion thread from 2013( I logged in for the first time as a poster that month) for reference:
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=204407
and another thread started in 2011.
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=192911

As for the other City locals mentioned in the OP they were created before I was even a member.

When it comes to Man./Sask, all decisions on the format would be made by Website Management and Administration.

Any way, it's open to discussion as a thread..

I feel the current situation is workable. That said, London, ON has it own forum despite being a much smaller city population wise.

Metro is the way to go. Otherwise you can say Winnipeg is bigger than Vancouver.

Every time this comes up people say no to it.

London might have a bigger section, but chances are it's only because there are more people from London on the board than there are from Winnipeg. Have you seen how quiet the Toronto section is? They're all at SSP. And Victoria has so many members that they branched off into a totally different website. So it all depends on need.

I'd agree. Pretty much the preference has always been toward the status quo and the simplicity of this sub-forum, drop in, and have it all layed out before you.

I guess the largest determining factor would come down to traffic and users.

If posts, threads, projects and discussion begin to overwhelm a combined forum one way or the other, change might be necessary. But on the other hand it might be a detriment to the combination as a whole.

Time will tell..

It's been voted on 5 times now been shot down each time also the main admin doesn't really have any interest in this. It's done more to split communities up and create dead zones in parts of the forum

If you scroll down the page in Man/Sask you'll see that including stickies there are 20 threads posted in today or yesterday. At the bottom of the page you've already traveled back in time to November 10th, 2015. I don't think there is quite the traffic yet to warrant a separate Winnipeg section. Although if the Winnipeg forumers just hate Saskatchewan that much, then so be it.

That's not the case HIMS, most posters want to keep us together?

Theirs always some that feel otherwise, in both Man/Sask, but the majority here want to keep it together in the current format?

I should have put a smiley because I was joking. Then again most people know I tend not to be very serious.

How do you figure they were shot down. In the poll Cyro linked to up top only 42% of the vote was to remain status quo, meaning the majority of people wanted something different. Where they differed is how to do it differently.
