Could probably take the "on the radar" part of the title out now, eh?

No, I am an editor. I "moderate" the diagram database, not the forum. I would get 1ajs to change it if he didn't disappear.

This point of the construction is the best time to break into the site and ride bikes around on the concrete floor.

Did that when I was a kid at a Safeway being built down the street from my house. Good times.

Looking good. And Big.

I just wish the traffic infrastructure was handled better

It will be interesting to see how CN decides to do their rail switching across Kenaston Blvd into the adjoining Lehigh Canada cement plant during the Ikea opening. With some luck it will be done late at night when the traffic flow into the store is non existent.

CN cuts off the Walmart parking lot in Thunder Bay and they don't seem to care about how it impacts anything. It's CN. They're the ones with trees growing between the rails.

i drive past the site daily, but never noticed the 2 new structures going up beside the Ikea. one larger building is going up directly west, and then a smaller stand-alone building is closer to sterling lyon. i had heard rumors of Lowes and every other business imaginable going into the area, but does anything know what these will be?

There are currently 4 buildings going up that are not IKEA. The one at the back directly west of IKEA is a 5 unit big box strip, further west in the back corner is the new Cabela's and there are 2 buildings going up nearest Sterling Lyon. Lowes although coming, has not been officially confirmed. They are apparently on the official site plan but still working out some details.

I looked back at the start of this thread for kicks. I enjoyed this post, the second of the thread:

Ho boy. Me thinks I'll be avoiding the area on weekends, until my wife and I decide to make a visit. Hmm, maybe I'll just go check it out at 9:00am on a Sunday Morning. This seems like a great way to make use of the new Sunday Shopping Hours. I wonder if IKEA had anything to do with that little law tweak.

Perhaps he should have said something like...

"The only thing that makes my eye roll more are the 'when will stores and homes go RIGHT up to the sidewalk' conversations"

The fact that you guys and Nova Scotia are the only ones who held onto that silly superstition until recently is probably more behind it than IKEA.

Enjoy Sunday morning shopping. It's wonderful!

It will be true though. Traffic will be crazy come November 28th in that area of the city.
