Just noticed a new construction crane at Old Town Park. Looks like for tower #3? Also, there is a construction crane near Lincoln Commons. Can someone tell me what that one is for?

The seven-story condo building. Called "the orchard" IIRC.

Thanks guys.
I can see the crane that is coming down on the north side of Old Town Park #2 but there is also one to the west of it. I do not know my cranes but it is the style like what was on Vista.

The first of the new towers at Lakeshore East was issued a new construction building permit. This one for Cascade, which will be 37 stories and 503 units (apartments), with 349 parking spaces and ground floor commercial. The permit is for the foundation up to the 3rd floor. This will be connected basically to another upcoming tower (permit to be issued soon) for Cirrus (47 stories, 363 condo units). There's also going to be a new park there called Cascade Park.

This is right next to LSD overlooking Lake Michigan on those few empty parcels.

im surprised the original zoning didn't have those two lots for much more height...i mean basically have unobstructed lake views with nothing to be built in front you would want to maximize that. There is only of handfull of lots in this part of town that are directly on lake. Also from that google map ariel view the lancaster looks like such in a no mans land..lol.. basically a short squat building on fringes of lakeshore east park bowl surrounded by taller buildings..just looks out of place

Wow, and then there was one... One highrise site remaining in LSD. An area that was a golf course 20 years ago...

Just watch how quickly downtown starts to spread now that Streeter and LSE are basically full.

^I hope you are right.

Over a year later and we STILL haven't heard anything concrete about Trib East or 400 LSD. There are also two parking lots next to NBC Tower and the BIG ONE next to Trump Tower. That's a lot of developable land. Easily 5-10 years worth.

Agreed. We are far the hell away from running out of developable land downtown

The comment was never that we are "running out of developable land downtown" it was to watch how quickly other areas on the periphery of downtown fill in now that going East is basically no longer an option. Compare an image of streeterville in 1980 with today. That kind of construction will be directed solely to outskirts of downtown over the next 40 years.
