i've been to san antonio many times over the last 30+ years. downtown is very nice with the riverwalk, the alamo, market square and i believe the hemisfair plaza is undergoing a major renovation.

even though san antonio is much larger than boise, it has the same friendly feel to it--though with larger buildings, of course. definitely worth a visit if you've never been there.

San Antonio is definitely worth a trip if one hasn't been. Btw I need to make a trip up to Idaho soon. Boise seems it has alot going for itself so visiting is a must.

We most definitely are grateful for Sawtooth's amazing photos.

On a side note, the spire of 8th and Main does not look good. The proportions are terrible. It looks too much like it has a flat roof like the US Bank building. They really should have beefed up the spire. Maybe even put some floor space inside it.

I think this thread has lived out its life since the building is complete.

Does anyone care if I lock it so that it cannot be posted in anymore? It will still be visible to look through.

Edit....but I guess there is no harm in it remaining open to more posts.

San Antonio, as most of Texas, loves it's sprawl and it's vehicles. Although the city has been attempting to promote downtown development, the mentality of most of the citizens lags behind. The majority of life downtown is due to tourists, rather than people living there. Being anywhere other than the Riverwalk at night can make you question your safety.

This is all personal opinion, but having lived in both cities, downtown Boise has a lot more of a community feel than downtown San Antonio.

Glass

We need more glass buildings downtown. The reflection of blue sky and white clouds is magical. June27,2014 photo of 8th&Main Tower.
