I dig it. It's a bit of a behemoth from a street presence, and would like to see the massing broken up a little bit more design-wise, but it's a nice departure from the stucco-heavy designs of TCA in the past. Remains to be seen how the spandrel glass will be treated (there's a lot of it), but getting slowly better. At least in rendering form...

Does anyone know what is being built at the northeast corner or Selma and Wilcox? I know the Thompson Hotel is being constructed to the west of Mama Shelter and the Tommie Hotel is being constructed south of Mama Shelter, but that northeast corner of Selma and Wilcox has something going on as well. On a side note... I checked out the rooftop bar at the Dream Hotel a couple of weekends ago... what a beautiful view from up there!

I'll refer you to our handy-dandy Central LA development map. If work indeed has begun on that corner, I will alert the various parties, and get it changed to red/under construction on the map.

Millennium Hollywood is back as Hollywood Center and is now twice the size of the previous proposal in terms of housing (but no more offices)

^ The big change with this is that they are including roughly 13% of units as affordable housing for low income seniors, and have reduced estimated daily trips by 1/3. Probably not enough to make opposition for the project go away completely, but makes for a much better argument against the opposition in the public sphere. This is an excellent play of the cards by the developer, and I hope this moves forward. If there's any place to put 1,000 units of housing, it's kitty corner from a subway stop.

-Millenium, er Hollywood Center as mentioned above
-Miramar Santa Monica redesign on Urbanize
-The Wilshire Westwood flatiron knockoff pulled some permits also per Urbanize

Maybe the delay on the Hollywood Center was worth it because I like the current design so much better than the orginal.
