For now Ralph Lauren is likely just taking baby steps, I don't believe they will use all of the Brooks Brothers space, only the middle part of the building with other units on both sides. The store should be similar in size to the one in Toronto.

New Royal Bank signage is up at the HSBC main branch at Georgia and Hornby, just a block away from the Royal Bank main branch at Georgia and Burrard.

Daiso Japan has indicated it will open a new location at City Square Shopping Centre, which is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Cambie Street and West 12th Avenue
Not nearly as much vomit, broken glass, & blood to clean up every AM up on Cambie.

They should do well at City Square next to Sungiven.
There's a Dollarama on the level above.
Sigh, definitely more than you can imagine. It is terrible for retailers all around downtown Vancouver, and I wonder if there is a task force trying to tackle this. I think I saw Burberry's front door smashed up this morning.

... and the signage at the top of the tower has been blanked out.
Not the right proportions for RBC signage, so it'll be interesting to see what goes up, if anything.

It's been renamed to RBC Place?

RBC Place was on the signage for the new pavilion at Royal Centre.. I wonder what's going to happen.

Royal Centre is a much better name than "[acronym] Place".

Surrey will soon start accepting applications for cannabis stores

Quote:
Council in Surrey, B.C., has voted in favour of a proposed policy framework around allowing cannabis retail shops to operate within city limits.

Despite the sale and consumption of recreational cannabis being legal in Canada and there being stores in many municipalities across the province, Surrey — the province's fastest growing city and second largest by population — has remained a significant outlier.

The proposed framework allowing two cannabis stores each in the neighbourhoods of Whalley/City Centre, Guildford, Fleetwood, Newton, South Surrey and Cloverdale was passed unanimously by council on Monday night.

City staff said they plan to begin accepting applications within the next few months.

Someone posted on a Hive article about the Winners, that the old 3rd floor location will become a Marshalls.

I truly don't understand the difference between these two stores, considering they are all under the TJX umbrella. That said with the economy as it is, off-price retailing will continue to flourish.

Marshalls is a little better organized and the selection seems a little better merchandised and curated compared to winners, like Marshalls will organize 3displays of the same brand together on a rack whereas winners seems to just throw everything in a big general section.

Marshalls was a separate company before they got bought out by TJX. Used to like going to it in Bellevue.
