The Chicago three peak is already being tampered with. Have we forgotten Trump, Chicago Spire, Waterview?

A floor every 4 days, incredible. If that's the case, we'd be looking at topping out sometime this summer, probably around July.

That's pretty optimistic. I think that it might take a bit longer than that. Especially if there are transfer floors that need to be built.

^^^ Well they certainly seem to have been pulling it off for the last month or so! But you are right, they may have to slow down for transfer floors, those this building doesn't really look like there will be all that many of them, nor do they look to be as extensive as the ones at Trump, with the whole building getting skinnier, so perhaps they won't take as long?

It's the sub zero weather. I dont think they pour under a certain temp. I did walk over to take a look at the curtain wall on the Metra side and they are up past the Roosevelt Bridge. So I think thats like the 3rd floor. The metal and glass look unbelievable. The metallic cladding is significantly bigger than the cement columns and gives the building huge presence. There are 2 shades of glass. One a dark blue that is covering the cement areas and the other is a silver/reflective mirror look on the "point" which is the largest condo going up all 60+ floors.

Well, Museumparktom aroused my interest as to what the glass on OMP looks like, so here are a couple of shots that I took this morning:

Blue Glass

Blue glass on left, gray on right

Another of both, a little farther out

No glass on this side

Thanks for the shots. I think the color difference will be more apparent once there is more material and we can step back a bit. It's still a little hard to see in the photos.

This could very well be my favorite building u/c in Chicago.
The facade is great, the design is great, the location is great. And OMPW will add to its greatness.

The center peak is just getting bigger. However, CS will add a 3rd peak from the N-S direction, so there will be three from N-S and E-W.

Thianks for the shots Monkey36. Its nice to see some glass on this.

Is this an add? I would've LOVED to have seen both these buildings cancelled! It's a shame that this city embraces bad architechture SO much!

What?

Get the hell out of here.

It's a shame that some people don't have decent taste.

While I agree that the buildings aren't Class A, they are far from being bad.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I for one am extremely excited for this project and OMP west. While I concede that Im mostly excited about the height for the south loop and to help close grant park on the third side, I definitely wouldn't say the architecture is bad. But cancelled? Thats crazy talk, if you wanted this cancelled you should want nearly half of all buildings in this boom cancelled as well. But Ive had my taste questioned on this board before too, to each their own I guess.
