walking down the street about an hour or so ago & saw this yellow beam being hoisted up, hard to see in the photo but it looked oddly out of place in color (it's about half way up the hotel portion)

Perhaps it was one of the special load lifting beams used to get large supplies onto various floors - through the window areas between floors; as opposed to the type of loading beam that is used to bring down a load onto an floor or section that's open from the top.

makes as much sense as anything else, I just hadn't noticed what was attached to those cranes before today; too busy looking at the building itself. That caught my eye because it stood out twisting in the breeze up there.

As an aside, I agree with tower's comment above, this is going to be one imposing structure. I've been on the fence about its lower roof height all along but the more I look at it from all sides, particularly north/south, I think it will dominate the skyline

Looks on the webcam like the north crane is supporting the boom of the south crane. Perhaps a larger one is being installed to reach further?

Either the west crane is coming down, or their changing booms to take down the east crane.

the framing and roof line drop off on the west end, is that the footprint of the cooling tower? If so it looks larger than the renderings

It appears according to the webcam that they have brought up a new boom for the SW crane. I wonder if the new boom will be used for the cooling tower and lantern. Based on the current status of the top floor, it seems like they have prefabricated parts of the cooling tower offsite, so it may be lifted in place, though I'm no engineer or architect.

Wow - it completely obstructs the Comcast building from this angle. Like a skyscraper eclipse. I'd prefer to see both buildings but that's trivial.

I wish it obstructed the south side of Comcast. E and W are the vest sides of that monstrosity imo.
