Hello Az,

Terrific pictures! Sure does our city proud. How long did it take you to compile all those? Seems like you were all over town! I am thinking of doing a Denver Tech Center thread since I will be in the area this weekend. I know, I know, it's the 'burbs and it's just so monotonous and homogeneous, but I like some high rises there, so there!!!! Again, congratulations on a great picture thread!

Wow-not many mid-sized cities can lay claim to such a diverse housing stock.

BTW, you're improving!

Hey Jomaled, It didn't take long as I am always out walking. These are from the past few months. A Denver Tech Center thread would be great as there are some nice buildings there. Thanks for your comments!

Denver is not know for large structures but we do have tons of historic homes and public buildings. Hopefully soon the modern will catch up!

Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot coming from you!

Great variety of photos, I especially liked all the great old houses. Denver does have some fine housing stock.

Thank you for another great thread and another huge serving of classic old Denver mansions! I was in awe of Kansas City's mansions while driving through certain sections of that town, but I'm astounded at the sheer number & size of them your western city has. Well done !

Denver

Take me home to Paradise City, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty! Now I know Nirvana was talking about Denver!

/\ I hope you just didn't mistake Guns and Roses with Nirvana! That is an inexcusable error to Kurt Cobain.

Awesome pictures though DA!!!

Denver does have amazing housing stock. The mansions are unreal, but the smaller historic homes are just as interesting and unique. The ones you take pictures of are so well-preserved and stunning!

Can't wait for more.

Thanks Again for all the great comments. Denver did retain a ton of the old homes, luckily Urban Renewal didn't rip them all down. We did loose 120 blocks of homes and victorian era warehouses. Many mansions in Capitol Hill were demolished for the building of creepy 1960 and 1970 highrise apartments. I shouldn't complain too much because I live in one of those buildings. Just sad to think about all that was lost.

Yeah, SnyderBock, it is Guns and Roses that played that line. However, Denver is a Paradise City, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty!!

One of my favorite things about Denver is that its neighborhoods that surround the Downtown are so well preserved. The people have invested so much in their communities and it shows. Thanks for another outstanding thread!

Mine isn't a highrise, but I call it my ghetto Motel 6, as it looks like a 1960s or so motel. But, you know, it's what I like about the hill, there is crazy variety, because you'll have these old mansions, and some old apartment buildings, all mixed together with new stuff, ugly stuff, all shapes and sizes. Keeps things interesting.

Great shots, btw.

Ghetto Motel 6, so true about the Hill being a mish mash of buildings and that is what makes it unique. Thanks for the compliment.

Love those big old homes and mansions. Didnt know Denver had so many of them that are so nice. There are a lot of victorian homes, but a lot of the big ones looked to be of the 1910-1920s eras? What brought the money to Denver to build such homes back then?
