Hopefully they can come up with some sort of casing for it that looks good.

Thus the skyline is only half restored.

This could change if they build Foster's nearby tower with the diamond roofs, and in that case we would have, as someone here nicely pointed out, fraternal twins if not identical twins. But as I understand it, Foster's tower may never be built.
For me, this building is part of a new skyline and stands alone (or rather, with the rest of the buildings in the new complex, if 2 and 3 even get built). Although it is reminiscent of the old North Tower, I don't get the same impression that it's missing a twin. Perhaps if only the South Tower had collapsed on 9/11 and the North remained standing, I think that building would definitely have looked odd by itself because it was meant as a twin set. But I think the skyline is being restored to a new normal, with these new buildings.

I found this image giving the impression that the old North Tower didn't have a sibling. I actually like the old North Tower antenna--hope the new 1wtc is a bit similar and not like the renderings.

That is should and will happen. The economy can't stay in the sinker forever.

I sometimes shop at the Lot-less on Fulton Street, and the entire store is clad in wall paper depicting 1 and 2 WTC. The more we see the new World Trade Center integrated into daily NYC life and culture, the more everyone can heal.

The most amazing video of 1WTC and the WTC in general.

Well I've just got back from 10 nights in New York and I had a fantastic time.

I thought I would share a few of my holiday photos which include 1WTC so I can contribute to this topic. They were all taken between 6-14th August.

Enjoy!

Lawrence, amazing photos!

It's amazing to see how far it has come along. I will be back in NYC on Tuesday, can't wait to see this thing up close again.

^ Future towers will rise which will be taller than the former and the current WTC. 432 Park Ave is just the dawn of a new beginning.

Btw awesome pics Lawrence!

Can someone take a picture on the KPI cams of the base?
Looks as if some tape looking material, or belt like material is being placed.

It isn't a floor but the square at east. If you see well to the right you can see the building under construction. This is a very old video
