Crazy amounts of snow for the central part of the island today!!

This is crazy for mid may!!

In the meantime luckily around the Clarenville area there was little to no snow.
I live about 25 minutes away from Clarenville, some snow fell for a short period, however it did not accumulate.

It's cold though. Got up to 5C, but mainly stayed around 2C for the whole day.

Currently 1.7C @ 9:22PM

What do you mean Signal, it's only 1140 km from Saint Stephen NB to St. John's NF as the crow flies - of course a storm affecting the Avalon will affect Passamaquoddy Bay at the same time!!

BTW, for those of you that don't know, this distance is greater than the distance from Windsor ON to Quebec City QC (and we all know that Quebec City gets exactly the same weather as Windsor!

20C and overcast today! We had some much needed showers this evening.

The Canadian warmspot was Sarnia, Ontario at 29.4C.

Windsor also recorded a humidex of 34C which is the highest this year in the country.

Another hot one today, expecting 31c for the high, yesterday we hit 29.1c. Possible thunder showers later today also possible!

The verdict is in...

Gander gets 58 centimeters of snow, all records shattered

The final total for how much snow accumulated in Gander over the May 24th weekend has helped this year's month of May become the snowiest one ever for the central Newfoundland community.

Environment Canada is reporting that 58 centimetres accumulated over a 36-hour period from Saturday morning to Sunday evening. The previous record for the entire month of May was 49 centimetres, set in 1972.

On average, 13 centimetres of snowfall accumulates in Gander for the entire month of May.

Very muggy and summery today, currently 30c with a dew point of 21c and a humidex of 38!
