What's the reason for having so many days off before the championship game?

Another thing that doesn't help is the fact that MLS (and most of us, probably) would rather have the Final on a saturday but the conference finals were wed/thurs.

Having playoff games midweek is much better for ratings than going up against college football/NFL.

Time for redemption this weekend from last December. Also anybody else think this league needs to start 1 month earlier in the year. December is too cold for football (not soccer) in many of the MLS markets.

I think there was some talk about how international friendlies would be rolled into some international champions league, and a reduction in international breaks. This would compress the schedule, from March to November (for the final).

Time for a new stadium with a roof. Maybe we can make it the roof retractable.

Things do go in cycles. Built a climate controlled BMO 2.0 in the western Portlands by 2030. Tear down BMO 1.0. Build new Ultimate Frisbee stadium on the CNE by 2050.

By then, gridiron will be obsolete, a 100,000 seater NudieBall ARena in Downsview will be needed: The Scotiabank G-string Centre. #MeToo

Everyone except Toronto football fans. BMO Field is perfect for me. Vaughan, not so much.

In other news, the league basically increased the salary cap by $4 million using the TAM mechanism. This is a game changer as many of us weren't expecting (though we desired) anything this substantial before the new TV deal in 2022. Expect clubs to weaponize this off-season in preparation for their CONCACAF run.

Game day!!
4pm EST

"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the box, we shall fight in midfield and in set pieces, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our net, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the sidelines, we shall fight down the wings, we shall fight in close and in the open field, we shall fight in the stands...we shall never surrender"
