Remind me: was the cracked steel installed, or was it just in the delivery of what was going to be assembled next?

Since exterior glass continues to be installed up to the top of the building, and it looks like they're nearing completion, it would seem that if there is cracked steel it's either in the existing cooling tower area or the upcoming section of the cooling tower and lantern steel.

The steel in question is in the already installed area that houses the cooling towers. We may be seeing the building be taken apart to replace

Photos from my friend, the plumber.
"Cracks. Not visible but they are labled. There's a ton. I'm sure you can focus better and adjust lighting.
Enjoy. Ps no prpgress, their fixes are not working. Driscoll still doesn't want to replace it. But the future steel was sent back to be remolded".

Wow. I wonder how long this will set the project back.

So now we can consider the story factual. Surprised there is no news from the media about it. I wonder how long this will set the building back.

I imagine there's no one rushing to the media to tell them that the new supertall skyscraper for Comcast has cracked steel. You'd think they'd probably want to keep that as quiet as possible.

Wow, I didn't believe a lick of this but the pictures seem to tell a different story

I'm trying to wrap my head around the gargantuan size of the coming (if not already filed) potential series of lawsuits/counterclaims that this might generate. I guess the silver lining is that (I think) the problem begins at the roof line & up? Assuming there are no issues below that at least the rest of the building can continue being finished around the clock as scheduled. I'd have to imagine that the responsible party is sh!tting a CTC sized brick right about now, is it the manufacturer, the transporter, the installer, someone else???

Likely doesn't change end date at all- probably only means steel erection wont finish on time. But the building isn't done until it's fit out and that work is obviously ongoing and months from completion.

The good news is .....

The fact that they are continuing to install glass indicates it is at the top only.
I hope anyway ..... Still inexcusable.

Here's the part that makes me sort of believe it isn't true though.
There's been talk about a third Comcast Tower in the works. According to the contractor, the full plan is to eventually build five buildings throughout Center City. The third one is supposed to be at the lot near Russell Byers Charter School that's being demolished by Liberty Property Trust right now.

It seems too good to be true in my eyes but I hope it happens.
Well this would seem to echo what Summers has said in the past regarding plans for multiple shorter towers in the future. It's very unlikely if this is indeed the plan though that any of the future towers approach the current two in height.

If Comcast is going shorter I wish they'd build on the lot they already control, 18th & JFK. Isn't that lot 'approved' for a 17 or 20 story tower. That would large enough to have a well designed tower that could be interesting.

As long as the eventual Comcast 3 building (or 3-5 cluster) block(s) the Kennedy House from skyline views from the north, and elsewhere ... I'm all good.

Anyways.. some more Insta-finds:

Does anyone have any idea or guess of about how long this is going to delay the topping out of the spire?
