They seem thoroughly enthralled with the display.

Just another take on the original proposal...

I can confirm that those columns support tower superstructure. Think of them as basement level columns.

This is my favorite building U/C in the city right now with 111 West 57th Street being a close 2nd. There is nothing I would change about its design; which is something I can almost never say. This is the perfect office building for the modern United States.

Is the construction going on yet? When it will be completely? They will be completed sometime in 2018. It will take 4 years to be built.

1. thejacko works in the industry and his info was always correct.
2. progress has been confirmed by ILNY's latest photos.

These super columns are an integral part of the tower. It couldn't be more obvious this is U/C.

The height should also be updated in the diagram section.

Ahh I see, my bad. I just remember so many bogus things from that site like, that one guy that supposedly saw the 225 blueprints from a "friend".

We all know how that turned out...

Also, I don't really look at the photos at HY since its a mess over there. Maybe things will be bearable to look at in a few years from now..

The super columns on the picture above are for mid section of retail center and not for the North Tower. Not sure if the retail is consider as part of the tower.

Why are people here so concern about where a thread is located? It's not like it has any bearing on the actual construction itself.

When a moderator feels like it's time to move it, he will. In the meantime, just sit back and enjoy the construction pics.

Right. It's not as if moving a thread determines speed of work on site.

Meanwhile, it's come to light that Related wanted Chase to occupy the remaining space in this tower, but Chase has it's eyes on both 50 and 55 Hudson yards.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/17/ny...ttan.html?_r=0

Quote:
City and state officials are negotiating with JPMorgan Chase over a potential deal in which the nation’s largest bank would build a vast $6.5 billion corporate campus with two high-rise towers in the new commercial district on the Far West Side of Manhattan.

ccording to executives and officials, Chase wants to build the two towers — whose total space would be the equivalent of about two Empire State Buildings — at Hudson Yards on the north side of 33rd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. They would become home to 16,000 employees.

Related Companies, one of the city’s most prolific developers, is building two office towers on the adjoining railyards that will be home to Time Warner and Coach, as well as several residential towers. The buildings are part of Related’s $15 billion development at the yards, which has picked up steam in the last two years.

But Chase must also come to terms with Related, which owns the two sites where the bank hopes to build.

The bank wants to buy the property but it does not necessarily want Related to build its new headquarters. Related recently suggested that Chase build one of the towers and occupy half of the Time Warner building, a plan that the bank is likely to reject.

Also, the retail portion and 30 Hudson are to be considered the same development.
