Vancouver gets a 1 - 1 draw with the reigning Eastern champs Sporting Kansas City. Now 4th in the West.

Amazingly Vancouver and Montreal have the two highest scorers in the league!!
Tonight Vancouver is home to its biggest rival Seattle! BC Place is sold out, the roof is open, and another glorious sunny day on the West Coast.

Really disappointing week as a Montreal fan. I was excited, expecting Colorado, Toronto and Chivas to provide us some easy points and extend our lead. I was expecting at least 6 or 7. Instead, we ended up with 2/9. Lost to Colorado (which wasn't that shocking, Colorado is pretty good) but then tied Chivas and Toronto. Hey, rough go. What can ya do.

Canada also blew it against Martinique in Gold Cup action, so that was rough.

Boy was that painful.

I want a new week.

So it looks like Diego Forlan of Uruguay will be announced as Toronto FC's newest DP this week

Damn... he was a beast at the World Cup in 2010.

He has probably slowed down a bit though but still awesome news for Toronto.

They must've promised him the keys to the city for him to sigh with that club.

Vancouver finally beats its next door neighbour Seattle 2-0!! Still in playoff position and that makes 6 wins in 9 games.

I'm starting to worry about my Montreal Impact...lousy defense (especially Nesta)

Bad stretch happening in the middle of the season. We're still a very good team just maybe not first place yet.

Montreal is falling, there is no doubt. A blip here and there is expected, but its time to be hard on the boys.

Colorado, Toronto and Chivas should be as at least 6/9 points. Wins against the later two in particular should be expected when you're top of the conference. Then to get compeltely manhandled by New York... its bad. Montreal should not be letting in 12 goals in 4 games. That is a painful statistic.

The issue at hand is defense I think. IMO, the solution is a return to the 4-1-4-1 that started the season so well. Bernier is a dream in the back, helping the guys keep balls away from the net. Moving him up into a Center-Mid roll, instead of a defensive mid, removes a key piece from our Defense. I have nothing but respect for our back four, particularly the individual accomplishments of our CBs, but they just aren't doing it right now. They are getting beat, time and time again, and they need to adjust NOW before they fall further. Going into that Colorado game, Montreal was in a position to make a huge leap ahead of everyone in the East. Could have had a large gap between them and everyone else. They blew it, and the games aren't getting any easier in the coming weeks. Not to mention the Champion's League. Depth would be tested. I would like to see Ouimette in for Ferrari more frequently, and I would like to see us utilize a 4-1-4-1 against more offensive teams.

I watched Vancouver's game last night, and MAN was I impressed. I've only watched them a couple of times this season, but holy crap did they look good in the second half. Camillo is trying for Canadian citizenship too, so he can be capped by our national team! That's what you like to hear.

I think Montreal is playing a little over their head...we need to get back to basics and play like we did in Portland and Seattle at the beginning of the season.

First game I've seen live yesterday Van Vs. Chi, and Vancouver dominated the game, many good opportunities before Camillo first scored as well. Atmosphere was great, felt a bit bad for Whitecaps goalie as he almost had the shutout....

So Denscity was in St. John's this past weekend, and we got together and had Montreal vs KC set up on one TV with Van vs Phily on the other. I was personally quite pleased with the Montreal result, but I know Philly's goal hurt poor Denscity. Vancouver has been looking so strong, so I guess props to Philly for managing to break them down. Meanwhile, Montreal is still not looking like the threat they were earlier in the season, but to their credit they did manage to break through KC in what... the 96th minute? Certainly an exciting finish. Unreal pass from Di Vaio, and Blake Smith hammered it home with exceptional fashion.

Anyone catch the Gold Cup final yesterday? It was a decent game. Certainly not surprised the Americans won it, they have been dominating that tournament since it began. They are nipping at Mexico's heels when it comes to the title of best of CONCACAF. Quite frankly, I think they may be better for the first time in my memory. Neither side had their stars in the tournament, but it was clear which country's "B Squad" was superior. The depth of the US National team was incredible.

Meanwhile... Canada didn't score a goal in the short time we were there...

Apparently MLS has announced a four team expansion of the league today.

Vancouver gets late goal to tie Portland in Portland 1-1. Also Montreal loses to KC 3-1. I know the Impact were punching over their weight in the beginning of the season but are a way better team than theyve been showing lately. Btw Toronto plays New England tonight.
