I believe you're right that they are Irving owned.

I agree that this may not be good for Frederick Square II. It will depend on which building can secure leases though.

A bit disappointing that this isn't actually on the corner of Regent and King too.

From the earlier comments about FredrickSquare2, I had the impression everything was set to go, they were kicking out the parkers, and it was basically shovel ready once the ground thaws.

If that is the case, this shouldn't affect that project. Still, since Square2 hasn't officially been announced yet, it can be somewhat concerning. Maybe our inside man on that project can chime in? (I can't recall who was confirming it, but it's a few pages back I'm sure).

If they wanted room for expansion, why wouldn't they put this on the corner? There isn't really room enough to build another decent sized building in the space left, and expanding that way later would be a PITA. Though the current position does have some advantages; it has easy access to the parking garage (which is already mostly earmarked for the new Carleton Street project).

Eyeballing it on Google Maps, you could get a nice pair of offset corners if you would build a similar sized building on the other part of the lot (Regent and Brunswick), but that leaves an awkwardish spot behind right on the Regent corner. Maybe grass it over and have it be a downtown park or something?

Source says that they have already secured a major client and have strong interest from others. Clients in the TD Tower are being advised that they will lose the surface parking this spring
The quote from earlier. If they have secured a major lessee then that's great.

I have to wonder if this lot (highlighted) will ever be filled. It's a different property from the one being developed, and it's ripe for smaller infill. As private lots become lees valuable, it may only be a matter of time.

Would be a good spot for a 3-4 storey mixed use building.

Not really building related. But Fredericton is hosting a QMJHL hockey game the Moncton wildcats vs blainville-boisbriand armada. I bought some tickets late last night and there wasn't a lot of selection available.

I hope the Cats put on a good show for you but be warned, Blainville is a superior hockey team making a serious run to win the Memorial Cup. The Wildcats this year are only average. They won the last game in Moncton only on the basis of sheer heart, guts and determination. They could do it again, but it could also be a blowout for Blainville.

Having said this - Go Cats Go!!

Eastlink is officially opening in Regent Mall this weekend. I heard on the radio saying they will pay up to 200$ on your contract to buy you out on your celluar plans

Yeah, they have a page here for it: https://www.eastlink.ca/wireless/switch.aspx

I saw a new cell tower is up on the Northside visible from the Ring Road around 2nc, that might be theirs. Their prices are very competitive.

Was listed in their yearly AGM literature that they hand out. They released the literature at that meeting last week.

Cheapest plan for 2 is $75 for 2 ($37.5 each) 500 mins / 1gb. Any promos in store?

Public Mobile is still cheaper. I'm using $8 50 mins / 50 texts + $30 1gb add-on (unused data will roll-over every month).
