I look forward to seeing all that blue stuff disappearing on the New Jubilee House.

Here's an angle of the New Jubilee House that I've been meaning to get for a while now, from the alley.

^^^ I was intrigued by the single lane underground access for vehicles and I recalled another place where I saw something like that recently. At the social housing building across the alley from Addition. They have signal lights for the traffic coming and going.

metal panel cladding instead of painted concrete? Clearly too nice to be market housing

That's why allowing a building to go a lot taller actually enables this developer to spend more on their "gift" to the City, and in this case, subsidised housing.

Awesome news! Crossing my fingers this one turns out well.

On a side note - that's a lot of 8s. I wonder if the architect or the developer came up with that one?

What's the purpose of the diamond lattice? It says it's a response to the sun... so shading? I'm not so sure how effective that would be. If it's a metal lattice it might actually end up reflecting light into the building.

Thanks.

It would have been nice if they had kept the colour of the protruding bay window on just the protruding part (as a pod), without extending it back as a stripe.

I gotta say this one is honestly becoming another Telus condo IMO. I'm just waiting for the renders with the seafoam spandrel. Just like Telus i liked the original proposal, i thought the various coloured hexagon windows at the entrance as seen from the park would have made a great departure from the usual square windows and the hexagons reflected in the lattice over the tower would of looked so different and eclectic feeling. At the time i honestly believed we were gonna start seeing more building designs that incorporated the more fun architectural details from the 50's 60's and 70's with a new age take on them and i was very excited. So far it's been more of a cold soviet style from those eras with a seafoam twist. (aside from the social housing, i wanna live there!) The new lattice on the tower looks like it would be more of a hindrance to those who may have it blocking their windows or much wanted sun and the rest is just so grey. another thing is the render on the new website make the interiors look like an office building with old style fluorescent lighting.
