SINGAPORE - 60th floor views from UOB Plaza

These were taken on Saturday (12 July) from the 60th floor of UOB Plaza, where there is a Chinese restaurant up there.

I'll start with some panoramas.

Marina Bay. The casino can be seen under construction, and several other projects. Spot the giant observation wheel - the Singapore Flyer.

Looking down at the business and financial district of Raffles Place, Shenton Way & Tanjong Pagar. The red roofs of Chinatown can also be spotted.

Facing west. Immediately below is Chinatown and on the bottom right is part of the river snaking its way westwards.

Overlooking the town area of City Hall, Bras Basah & Orchard in the distance. The patch of green is Fort Canning Hill. It was also where the British command centre held on to until they decided they had to surrender to the Japanese outside the town centre. (WW2) Bukit Timah Hill, the island's highest natural point, can be spotted in the distance on the left. It is also where the Nature Reserve is.

More pics later

I really wish I had known about this when I was there. I totally would have eaten there (just to take photos of course!)

Cool pix.

Are they building a stadium in the water in the first picture? Intresting. Singapore has always drawn me in with its such a nice clean compact skyline.

Singapore looks beautiful, yet it is so under-rated.

Last year will see frequently on China's television Singapore's traveling promotion advertising, heard that sentence to fill the illusion the advertisement language: “unusual Singapore”!
Thanks picture's photographic author, It was really too beautiful !

The first picture almost looks like a computer made rendering.
Good job.

Cool pix.
You might want to try the bar or restuarant at the Swissotel though, as it provides views on to the main skyline cluster. Personally that offers more postcard views. You can also try the new observation wheel.
