I think this picture of the Columbia Theatre (later the Fox Theatre) from the Peel's postcard archive was posted earlier, but I thought it was interesting that the Free Press picture was taken in the same spot roughly 70 years later.
I like the Peel photo because you can see the Starland sign in the distance already up, even though the Starland itself hadn't been renovated to its expanded size (which happened in 1921). If you look closely you can see it still has its old, more ornate facade.
Sad how those facades often got covered up, like with the Rex and, as is obvious here, the Columbia.
