I also got very lucky, in that as I was passing by, they were moving one of the pieces of formwork. I sat down to watch. The shots are about 30 seconds to a minute apart.
You weren't wearing a leather jacket and khaki's were you? I was over there at about 1:30 myself taking shots. Seems like a lot of us took advantage of the sun and warmth.

I wonder how it will play out, though, from farther away. As I'm not sure how noticeable it will be.
See below: The balconies in the rendering nearer the base aren't as wavy and thus won't be as noticeable. They get much more defined as you look up the building. As for how it will look from far away - who knows, but I think it will play out well.

The pillar-free ballroom is beginning to take shape.
Is the outdoor park going to be on top of this ?
Great shots.

Wow, wasn't expecting 2 story high steel to appear overnight. The podium may come together quite fast if they're done with concrete.
And it really is surprising that the park and all the vegetation can be supported over that span without any interior columns. Steel construction looks so fragile next to concrete.
...the base is going to be much taller than I expected?
Exactly what I was thinking... seems to be more than a few floors above the street level of Columbus? I guess it does blend in with the height level of the "setback", soon to be hidden, in the concrete base of the Aqua tower itself. Thats going to be one huge podium raised up quite high.
