162 Wortley Rd | 3 fl | ? | U/C

A project that seems to be somewhat overlooked on this forum, but shouldn't be. A new three story infill building in Wortley Village. I think it's a great project that should get more attention.

Here's a rendering:

And here's what the site looked like as of August 23:

Where did you find this rendering? I left Wortley just as the site prep was beginning, it looks great! wonderful addition to Wortley.

Here's a realtor's website that has the rendering. I don't remember the exact source I got it from.

This project really is a perfect fit for that corner. I remember some of the residents making a fuss about the building not too long ago. About how it didn't fit the area and how the neighbouring businesses are dependent on the dirt parking lot or whatever. Did the developers end up compromising on the building's design and height at all?

Either way I love this type of infill. Our central neighbourhoods (especially South of Horton) could really use more of it.

I think Old South residents were pissed since the project means more traffic in the area and fewer parking spaces, since people use to park on the dirt lot its on. Just some stuck up residents not wanting more people in their exclusive neighbourhood.

It's an awesome project IMO!!

The building in Old South looks good now, but I'm not sure it looked good when the developer first released drawings. The thing that makes old south what it is is this - the residents care about their community. They won't just let a developer put up a slab of concrete. If only the entire city acted the same, we might not have so many fugly buildings in town.

Fits in perfectly... I don't know what the fuss is about. Looks as though there will be retail at grade... good to see.

From today. Pretty sure there will be a few storefronts facing Bruce as well.

Better not be - site plan only showed two units, so I only addressed them as such.
