Red face TORONTO | The Upper East Village | 326 FT, 247 FT, 207 FT / 99,75,63M | 28,21,18 FL

Proposed on the site of 939 Eglinton Ave East are a series of 3 towers featuring luxury units and retail spaces with some amenities. This is replacing a somewhat new retail plaza, which over the last few months has been torn down except for a small wing of it which has two remaining tenants. I've kept track of the site's demolition over time, which has been intriguing as a long time resident of the area. Anyways, this site will sit right near a stop on the Crosstown streetcar project, which runs on the north edge of the site.
The website for the project is here;

Is the new LRT spurring this development with the conversion of a strip mall into condos?

Yes, it is. This is something we're seeing across Eglinton, albeit in select cases.

I took these yesterday, excavation is underway, while the existing retail and sales centre are moved to the south end of the site;

Took these yesterday...this update is showing the east side of the side being excavated, seems like the first phase.
