Very nice photos. I was 13 the only time I went there, but I recognize many of the places. We stayed at the Majestic Hotel right on the main square, with a view of the snow-covered volcanoes just south of the city.

Thank You. It was my first trip there, so we visited many of the Mexico City 101 tourist spots. I will try to hit up more B-Sides on my return trip. Centro Historico is gorgeous, and reminds me more of Madrid than other parts of the city, and I would assume the rest of Mexico. Spanish Imperialism at its finest.

Thank you. We visited Coyoacan and Frida y Diego's house on our first day there (2 hour wait to get into Casa Azul). Coyoacan has a very Mexican feel to it that I felt other areas didn't have as fully developed. Probably my favorite part of the trip.

The intent at Xochimilco was to take a boat to the island of the dolls, but the travel time in the busy canals was around 5 hours. Moral of the story, don't visit DF between Christmas and New Years and expect to not have to wait multiple hours for any attractions.

Thank you! Now is the perfect time for you to take a return trip. Reforma continues to get its growth spurt on. It may be hard to tell because the photos are all instagrammy, but there were no less than a dozen cranes visible along Paseo de la Reforma from the view at Chapultepec.

It is a vast and mostly beautiful place. The areas that may not qualify as beautiful more than make up for it in culture and vibrancy. Thank you!!

You should make an excuse to go. It is exceedingly affordable. While it has the culture and sights worth travelling internationally for, it does not have the broad appeal of other destinations and expenses remain very low.

Fantastic refined architecture. I won't be trolling, just begging you for understanding, I can easily feel that common Catholic and Latin feel of ours to these pics. It's something we've got in common with the Hispanic and Portuguese Americas. So I can only wish them success... Cause it'd be good for my own place indeed.

It is amazing walking around and seeing everything from heavily Spanish areas to one's that are truly Mexican. The sad part is how many American things are encroaching on what is unique to the city.

Yes, there is a definite European and Catholic connection in the city. Moreso than probably anywhere else in the Americas!
