I never get the food shots, but, I love how eclectic your photos are. London is an amazing city and you captured it well. Thanks!

yes, unlike in the US you're not going to get arrested for jaywalking! talk about pedestrians having no rights. in many US cities the traffic lights will even count you down or change to red while you are in the middle of the street, and usually take ages to turn green or don't last long enough to cross - unlike in the UK. in london the attitude is you are free to cross when the light is green but if you don't hurry when crossing late you may get caught up in the traffic. tbh, a lot of americans don't really get the more free attitude to crossing the street in places like London. essentially - in most parts of london pedestrians don't just stop at designated spots and wait for the light to change, they cross when they want, based on assessing traffic. you have to use your own initiative and common sense.

in some parts of town, ie soho, the pedestrian traffic gets so intense that walkers take over the streets on an unofficial basis, people eating and drinking on curbs, milling around in the middle of the road, cars at virtual stand still as they try to negotiate the crowds. basically pedestrians in london rule the city - whereas in somewhere like LA you're made to feel like a 2nd class citizen for walking.

of course on the main roads you're more likely to stick to crosswalks, ie the first photo in this thread, which for me is one of the most unpleasant crossings in the entire city, speeding traffic coming off the bridge and buses from the station.

Wonderful photos! I love the color, light, composition, and the density that a good zoom emphasizes. Enjoyable tour.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Depressing weather, though; how long where you there for?

And for whoever was talking about food shots: they're part of the experience, too!

Nice pics. I really should try to go again this summer, 'specially since my brother lives there.

Not a bad restaurant IMO, had dinner there a couple of times.

youre a real artist - with alot of reticent high art shots, some of the best Ive seen. You have a quiet and emotive eye - the thing with art photography is the highlighting of the inside-looking-out thing, that bares a bit of the soul - and you've really got it

This one should be in a gallery:

This too, its not a shot of a flag, but of a feeling if you get what I mean

.

Battersea power station was purchased and to be developed
by two Irish developers.Nama was set up in Ireland to take
bad loans out of banks with taxpayers money and I think
this site may end up in Nama...therefore it may become
property of the Irish taxpayer....saw it on telly and
inside the station is a party tent for rent at a very high
price.....nice pics btw.
